If you’re into speciality coffee and looking for refreshment in the summer months, try shaking up your routine with a delicious iced variation of your favourite drink! We’ve selected 5 of the most popular iced coffee drink recipes for you to enjoy during the warm summer months; from the refreshingly simple iced black coffee to the indulgent summer fruits frappe and sophisticated, after-hours Espresso Martini cocktail.

Iced Black Coffee

Iced black coffee is a deliciously refreshing and incredibly simple drink to make.

Use a quality espresso coffee with a bean to cup coffee machine to serve up your shot or a capsule (coffee pod) machine like the Tchibo Cafissimo Compact. Brew and pour the espresso over a couple of ice cubes in a long glass and stir. Once melted, add more ice and serve. If you enjoy your coffee sweet, stir in a pump of DaVinci Syrup.

Pre-freezing black coffee cubes is an effective way to quickly and conveniently make ice coffee ready to enjoy on demand on a hot, sunny day. The method is simple – use a freshly brewed shot of espresso coffee per ice cube tray compartment and freeze immediately.

Salted Caramel Iced Latte

If you like coffee and caramel, then you'll love this one! Making a refreshing iced version of this popular speciality coffee is a lot easier than most people think!

To make your iced latte, first put ice cubes into a tall glass, pour the brewed coffee over and add DaVinci Salted Caramel Syrup to taste. In a different glass, use the Aerolatte milk frother to froth the milk. Once you’ve achieved the desired foam consistency, pour over the coffee and enjoy!

For a vegan take on this classic cold drink, use Minor Figures Oat M*lk - a dairy-free milk alternative, with no added sugar, preservatives or stabilisers – perfect for Vegetarians and Vegans!

Summer Fruits Iced Frappe

A frappe is a refreshingly indulgent iced drink, perfect for lazy hot days!

To make our Summer Fruits Iced Frappe put 2 scoops Vanilla Breeze Frappe Powder, 75ml DaVinci Summer Fruits Smoothie Mix and add it into a blender with some ice cubes. Pour a small amount of smoothie mix around the inside of the glass to create a marbled effect. Blend the ingredients together and serve in the glass.

Cold Brew

A Cold Brew is the coolest drink (literally!) you can make this summer!

Use a Toddy Brew Coffee Maker to make your perfect cold brew or use the Commercial Toddy with Lift if you’re brewing for a party! You’ll need water, coffee and ice. For best results, leave the coffee to “steep” for 12 to 24 hours to create a smooth, rich flavour. You can find full instructions on how to use Toddy here.

If you’d prefer a more immediate and convenient cold brew, then check out the ready-to-drink Minor Figures nitro cold brew in a can. The drink comes in three flavour variations: black coffee, latte and mocha. Perfect when you’re on-the-go or looking for a non-alcoholic drink at BBQ.  With no added sugar, the range is suitable for vegetarian, vegan & dairy-free diets.

Espresso Martini

An Espresso Martini is the perfect, alcoholic party drink to enjoy in the summer

To make one yourself you’ll need a shot of espresso coffee, ice, coffee liqueur, syrup, vodka and a cocktail shaker. First, make and pre-chill a 35ml espresso shot. Pour the espresso, 35ml of vodka,  25ml coffee liqueur and a couple of pumps of your preferred syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with 3 coffee beans for a stylish finish!
