Kirsty's Barista Journey: Week 11

What better way to round off my barista journey than trying out another new drink? Following last week's blog post on my attempt of a flat white, this week I'm going to tackle a mocha! During my time here at Tchibo, I have focused solely on coffee based drinks so it's time for a change.
The first step is to prepare the chocolate portion of the drink, I began by using a heaped spoonful of Chocolate Abyss cocoa powder which tastes amazing! I added some hot water and gave it a stir, clearly you can see me really concentrating here...
After this I began preparing my espresso, opting for a single shot so that the coffee didn't overpower the chocolate taste. I then extracted my espresso and focused on the milk, for the mocha I used latte style milk to try my hand at some more art before I leave!
Finally I decided to decorate the mocha with some Chocolate Abyss chocolate flakes! There you have it, the finished result! Not bad for a first attempt but definitely some room for improvement. Stay tuned for my blog post next week where it's the last week of my Barista Journey!
